Someone In Illinois Is $1.45M Dollars Richer After Playing Lottery

It's someone's lucky day in Illinois! Lottery officials announced that a player from Des Plaines is celebrating a stunning win of $1.45 million from the weekend's drawing.

Oh, to win the lottery.  I wouldn't know what that feels like because I've never won.

Lottery player from Des Plaines, Illinois Is $1.45M Dollars Richer

Imagine you stop by your regular gas station and buy a lotto ticket for the heck of it.  You get home, wait for the numbers to come out, and realize you've just won millions.

The winner of the Lucky Day lotto ticket at the BP gas station at 1215 Lee Street in Des Plaines, Illinois.

The owner made a statement about the win for the customer and his store:

"I actually know who the winner is because they came to the store yesterday morning to tell us the big news – they were so excited."

Thomas adds, "I couldn't be happier for the winner. They're a regular customer who has been coming into our store for many years. I'm thrilled this win is going to a familiar face and that we were able to celebrate with the lucky winner." [msn]

Of course, the store will receive a cut of $14,500.  The owner plans to share the money with his long-time employees.  How sweet!

I guess this is a sign that I need to buy a Lucky Day Lotto ticket again.  Last time I played, I won $200.  I screamed since I only spent $1!
