If you’re living in Illinois right now, you know exactly what I’m talking about when I say everything is getting so expensive.

Take eggs, for example. I remember when you could pick up a carton for 99 cents—it was even less at some places.  I went grocery shopping today and a carton of eggs is going for $6 to $8.  Who's idea was that?!

Inflation is our biggest enemy this year, no doubt.  It’s wild to think that something as simple as eggs has gone up so drastically in the last few years.

Oh, cooking oil?  Why is that almost the price of a full tank of gas?  Don't even try buying the avocado-flavored oil, that'll cost you your entire car.

What do you think has shot up in price and is so outrageously expensive?

Rockford residents are all kinda on the same wavelength.

  • Cell phones
  • Medicine
  • Healthcare
  • Houses
  • Rent
  • Breathing
  • Self care; Manicures and pedicures
  • Thrift stores
  • Off-brand clothing

It could be as simple as toilet paper, entertainment, and socks.  None of it is a price I'm willing to pay anymore.  If the quality of these things went up, I'd understand increasing the price but that's not the case.

I never thought we'd get to a point where people are literally asking to borrow a cup of sugar from their neighbors because it's too expensive to buy a whole bag of sugar the store.  Maybe the real question is what's NOT overly priced this day in age?

Arizona Iced Teas.  That's #1 on the "reasonably priced" list and that will never change!
