Admittedly, I'm not someone who has a ton of artistic talent. I have learned that a bit of charm mixed with mediocre skill goes a long way.

Much like my radio career the same goes for my art skills. With Mother's Day rapidly approaching last week, I decided to make a little something with the help of my three young children for my wife on Mother's Day.

The idea would be to get a finger paint hand print from each kid on the canvas and make each look like a flower. Before I go any further, my kids are aged 10, 5 and our last is an infant of nearly 6 months. That's important to know, just so you have an idea of what I was up against.

I knew my oldest wouldn't be a problem, my middle son was OK too, but the infant however, was kind of a nightmare when it came to finger-painting with his hand. I know, why would I ever think that it would work any differently, right?

Anyway, I found a really nice white painted canvas on burlap at Hobby Lobby and scooped up some cheap finger paint and got to work.

I think it turned out alright, I even wrote free hand "Love Blooms Here" at the top of the painting.

In a world of Pinterest fails, is this another for the pile or did I kind of make something here?
