It's been months and months and months since there has been a new movie release to talk about.

While the theaters opened up last Thursday, many of us are still waiting before taking a trip so we've been opting for the drive-in instead.

Up until now, that has meant retreads of classic films, and while most, if not all, have been solid offerings, it's still nothing new.

That's why I'm really excited about what's playing this weekend at the Midway Drive-In. It's also the only drive-in within driving distance of Rockford that is showing a new movie.

The Midway is about an hour from Rockford but the drive is worth it if you're a fan of Bill & Ted.

That's because the brand new Bill & Ted flick, Bill & Ted Face The Music will show this weekend.

That's the first half of a double feature with a classic 80s flick, Weird Science, following. Sure, it's not a double feature with two new movies, but hey, it's a start, right?

I mean, Robert Downey Jr. is in Weird Science, so that's something.

Remember, if you're going to the Midway this weekend, you need to purchase tickets and a food permit in advance.

The Midway Drive-In is located at 91 Palmyra Road in Sterling, Illinois.
