Times are tougher than ever before and there's help for food waiting for families in need. If you or any families are in need please make sure they are aware of these upcoming food distribution events.

2020 has been a real b-word. Tens of thousands of families in Northern Illinois has felt the financial blow related to the pandemic. Jobs have been cut in so many industries all over the state-line leaving many families scrapping for the next meal. Even with various food drives around Rockford, there is still a serious need to help families in and around the forest city. Northern Illinois Food Bank is bringing food to residents with the help of the Salvation Army. Anyone in need of help is welcome to take advantage of multiple pop-up markets in one location over the next few weeks.

Northern Illinois Food Bank will host a pop-up market in the parking lot of the former Circuit City location at 5460 East State Street in Rockford. The pop-ups are scheduled from 9 am to noon on Saturday, November 7, and Saturday, November 21. There are more dates expected in December but have not been announced yet. These are open to anyone needing assistance. No identification or documents are required at these pop-up markets.
