The state of Illinois could be adding a parking tax in the near future.

This is what happens when you live in a state that is broke. They want to make money by taxing the citizens. It looks like they're looking at putting taxes on just about everything. Up next is parking.

According to wrex.com,

"A tax on parking places to help finance Illinois’ $45 billion statewide construction plan. It’s 9% on spaces that are rented by the month or year. It’s 6% for spaces rented hourly, daily or weekly. It will raise $60 million annually and is part of more than $800 million in new taxes and fees that will finance state construction."

"The proposed rules would make the tax so broad that even those who rent private property for parking would pay the tax."

Illinois is going to get its tax money and they don't care how they get it.
