My youngest son, Grady, turns four today. Is it a milestone birthday? Don't know yet, but there are some potentially awesome things for parents when their kid turns four.

1. The non-sense talk comes through 10% more clear.

Want to tell me about Thomas & Friends? Why don't you explain it to me so I have no idea what you're talking to me about and how Lightning McQueen figures into the conversation.

2. They pretend to actually care about what you care about. Manners, politeness, etc.

This only something a young child could get away with. If you pretended to care about what your wife or husband was saying, you'd get called out. 4-year-olds? Well, that's kinda cute

3. They want to clean their room or their toy area one more minute than they did when they were three.

True story, I enlisted my son to help me clean up his room that he decided to destroy for no reason whatsoever. Anyway, the extent of his help was to pick up an empty box and prop it on a shelf in only a position that would end up with it falling over. I proceeded to clean the room by myself.

4. Their menu has expanded to include Ketchup in every meal.

Apparently ketchup goes with anything when your four. If anyone is looking for a late gift idea for my son, a case of that stuff would be great.
