The companies pumping out food products are really trying hard to make fall happen.

Seriously, no one is asking for fall to get here so fast. First, it was Starbucks announcing the uber-popular Pumpkin Spice Latte was coming back at the end of the month.

Then it was Spam announcing they somehow some way created a special Pumpkin Spice Spam that, you guessed it, is coming out later this month too.

Now there's Dairy Queen. They didn't want to be left out in the cold either, so they decided to make August fall too by apparently releasing their vaunted Pumpkin Pie Blizzard earlier than ever before.

The iconic fall treat is coming back just in time for the spooky season...like really in time. It's dropping August 26, aka before Labor Day, aka before summer is even over. That drop date is a lot earlier than it was last year, which was September 3, but hey, who's complaining?

Actually, I'm complaining. Summer is short enough as is, especially in Rockford. So when Starbucks, Dairy Queen, and even Spam try to make fall happen so soon, I feel a little bummed.

Full disclosure, I'll be grabbing a PSL, a Pumpkin Pie Blizzard and yes, even some Pumpkin Pie Spam this year, so I guess I can't complain that much.
