A few years ago, I remember overhearing a few people in the Rockford area talking about driving to DeKalb to try Raising Cane's.
Why the Hype?
From that day forward, my interest was piqued. I couldn't understand why people cared so much about chicken fingers.
I couldn't understand why folks would drive so far to get their hands on the stuff.
Raising Cane’s Rockford Grand Opening Date
Now I know why: I get the hype. The chicken fingers and the beloved Cane Sauce are officially coming to Rockford this month and opening on April 15.

It's probably the most talked about restaurant opening in the city since Portillo's came to Rockford years ago.
Before that happens, though, we're looking inside the brand new Raising Cane's restaurant coming to Rockford at 6445 East State Street.
A Look Inside the New Restaurant
Until today, we had no idea what Raising Cane's inside would look like, and I can tell you that it has the city's heartbeat on lock.
You first notice the nods to Forest City, with pictures featuring the legendary band Cheap Trick, local schools, a sock monkey, and a little something about the Rockford Peaches.
