Since I'm being truthful, I actually thought the idea of going to this Illinois college actually sounded kind of cool.

Maybe it was the idea of going to a school different from the standard university that got me interested.

It could also be the promise of making big bucks after graduating that got me too.

Either way, in 2022, DeVry Unversity is considered the worst college in America.

It's the only school located in Illinois (and Wisconsin) to receive that label on The 25 Worst Colleges in America and The States They Are Located In on the lifestyle website, JustRichest.com.

DeVry University was established in Naperville, Illinois in 1931 as DeForest Training School was renamed to DeVry University in 2002.

The institution is usually ranked as one of the worst colleges in the United States because their students graduate with a loan debt of approximately $43,000.

In addition to that, its graduation rate (29%) is quite low when compared to the student population.

There was also a $100 Million settlement in 2016 with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for the "tens of thousands of students harmed by deceptive ads that touted employment and earning potential."
