Need to take a trip back in time to when life was a lot simpler?

At the Midway Drive-In in Sterling, just over an hour from Rockford, they're hooking you up with a classic double feature that will transport you back to the 1980s (Delorean not required).

Gates open at 7 p.m. with E.T. kicking off around 8:45 p.m. followed by Back To The Future shortly after.

To get in though, you have to buy tickets in advance at themidwaydrivein.net.

Adult tickets are $9.50, while kids 3-11 are $4. The concession stand is closed but you can bring in your own snacks. A $10 food permit is required per car.

The first 200 cars will be allowed in with spots spaced out appropriately to adhere to social distancing policies.

If you can't make it tonight, the Midway Drive-In, 91 Palmyra Road in Sterling, will also have showings on Saturday and Sunday.

Are drive-ins the thing of the summer or if/when movie theaters open back up, will you change your mind?
