RFD was recently named the fastest growing cargo airport in the world by the Airports Council International. With growth of the airport comes growth to the city. As companies expand so does the workforce.

RFD has been the air hub for both Amazon and UPS. As it continues to grow Illinois Governor Pritzker is hoping to attract even more business to Rockford according to WREX.

Couple RFD expansion and now the possibility of the Hard Rock Casino and Rockford is becoming an even more desirable place to live. As many residents are getting fed up with Cook County taxes, they are looking for opportunities to leave the area but not move far. As Rockford continues to grow that only bodes well for it's current residents. With job growth and opportunities for more working class people, home prices tend to go up and current Rockford residents will see an expansion of their city.

Although, some will miss the smaller town feel that the city once offered as it expands. The questions becomes, would you rather Rockford continue to grow into a larger city or maintain the smaller city feel? I say as long as they continue to grow, make money, invest in the community and protect it's citizens, why not?
