Rockford Airfest Cancelled Due to ‘Scheduling Conflicts’
Rockford Airfest will not get off the ground this year according to the Chicago Rockford International Airport.
In a press release today, the airport said the event has been cancelled due to "scheduling conflicts with the Defense Department and F-22 jet teams."
According to the release, the jet teams were scheduled to be a part of the annual event the first weekend of June. The appearance was scrapped after the Defense Department rescheduled the teams for a military-related event.
Rockford Airfest typically brings thousands of spectators to Chicago Rockford International Airport for the two-day event.
Last year's featured attraction was the Blue Angels.
