As temperatures continue to drop, Rockford’s Human Services Department has already started opening warming centers in Winnebago county.

The city says they will open more warming centers in a severe weather crisis. Another useful tool in finding help is calling the 211 resource line or text “COLD” to 51555 to get an update list of the centers, according to wifr.com.
