Rockford High School Students Build Robots For Battle Competition
Robots for local battle competition built by Rockford high school students.
One of the many things I've learned by being a parent of a student that attends a Rockford School District high school is there are so many great programs happening that people on the outside have no idea about.
Here's the perfect example of one. Students that are interested in engineering can take a class to learn how to design, build, and operate a robot. I'm talking about the kind that was on the TV show "Battle Bots." How cool is that? I don't remember doing anything that awesome when I was in school. Then, they take their finished product to a local competition to battle against other schools. East, Auburn, Guilford, and Jefferson all have teams competing for the championship.
Teams from East and Auburn stopped by my show to discuss the program and show off their finished machines.
