Ever since I was a child I've always been amazed by the Aurora Borealis or 'The Northern Lights'. I've always wanted to see them. I've checked out some time-lapse videos in the past and even seen a few live shots, but to see it up close and personal has always been on my bucket list. It looks like we might have a chance here in Rockford to see them this weekend.

According to the NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center, We are right between the green and yellow line and it looks like that is the most likely area of the Aurora Extent. That means if you live in Northern Illinois you will have a pretty good chance to check it out. The reason we might be able to see it is because of a Geomagnetic storm that will be in effect on March 23rd. If you want to know more about the Aurora Borealis just click here.
