Rockford Moms Are Working the Equivalent of 2.5 Full Time Jobs
Hey mom, if you've ever feel like you're tending to someone from the time you open your eyes until the time they close, have ever had someone without kids tell you that being a mom "can't be THAT hard," or swear that you never get any time to yourself, this is for you.
According to The Independent, being a mom isn't just a full time job, it's the equivalent of working 2.5 full time jobs.
Does this sound like your day?
It starts with your alarm going off around 6:20, sometimes earlier depending on when your littlest one decides to get out of bed; then it's getting kids ready for school, getting yourself ready for work, dropping the kids off at school, working a full eight hour day; followed by dance class, soccer practice, a PTA meeting, dinner, story time, battle of the bedtime (which, statistically is 8:30) and finally you get to collapse in bed yourself, only to do it all over again the next day.
That's roughly 14 hours a day, 98 hours a week. No wonder you're so tired.
Additionally, the survey revealed that you only get one hour a day to yourself...so, your lunch hour. Lucky you.
DISCLOSURE: Dads, this is not discrediting what you do day-to-day and moms, this is by no means meant to take away the joy of being a mom. As a single mom, I am grateful for all the hard work I had to put in, and continue to put in, to raising a really good kid. Keep up the good work, moms and dads.
