Anyone and everyone who drives in Rockford likes to dog local drivers like we don't know what we're doing.

Well, a new study shows that Rockford drivers do indeed know what's up when they get behind the wheel.

In Illinois' Best and Worst Driving Cities, Rockford was listed as the 7th best in the state.

Only Joliet, Peoria, Cicero, Arlington Heights, Des Plaines, and Evanston ranked higher than Rockford on the list.

The QuoteWizard research team evaluated driver quality from the 50 largest cities in Illinois by population. We analyzed 2018 data of over 120,000 insurance quotes from Illinois drivers using QuoteWizard to find the rate of overall incidents in each city. Incidents include accidents, speeding tickets, DUIs, and citations.

Illinois was also ranked as the fifth best driving state in the US.

The worst driving cities in Illinois? Mount Prospect, Normal, Crystal Lake, Plainfield, and Park Ridge which took the top spot as the worst driving city in the state.
