Rockford Rivets Baseball Set to Resume After Positive COVID Test
While Rivets baseball will return to Rivets Stadium on Tuesday, August 11th, the team that takes the field will look a lot different.
The Rockford Rivets' season came to an abrupt halt a week ago when one employee tested positive for COVID-19. The team reports that the employee is doing fine.
Health officials have cleared the team to resume play. They have a game on Thursday, August 7th in Green Bay and return to the Stateline next Thursday night. It will be a very different looking team when they hit the field. Most of the regular players have gone into quarantine before they head back to their respective colleges. Rivet's General Manager Chad Bauer says they have signed several local players to replace them. According to MyStateline.com, we'll know the names of those players, later this week.
Listen to Rivets pitcher Noah DeLuga talk about the pausing and restarting of the Rivets season as the team prepares for tomorrow’s road game in Green Bay.
