We've all had to deal with a lot of rain in the Stateline area this Summer. For many it's been near devastating. But for some it's also been a teaching moment like this.

I'm sure you have heard the saying:

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."

It really is so true. And it applies to many situations.

Today we were at our friend Kim's for 'Sunday Funday.' The weather was sunny and gorgeous. No storms were predicted. But of course the crazy Midwest weather kicks in and out of nowhere it starts raining. Pretty soon it was a monsoon. We were all huddled under a canopy waiting for the storm to pass. Three adults and one little sassy six-year-old who just wanted to swim. So her mom just embraced it. She turned her little girl's frown upside down.

Life is short and we all want our kids to be happy, right? I love the huge smile in both of their faces at the end. Thanks for reminding us all what matters. I hope you all dance in the rain a little this week. I know I will.

And if that pool seems familiar, you'll recognize it below from the disaster at the beginning of Summer.
