Unless you're a Kardashian, chances are you're working until the day you die; so make sure you're doing something that you love.

If you aren't, then what's the point? My entire 20s I worked dead end corporate jobs that I hated. It was about six years ago when I had to ask myself, "why am I doing this to myself? Why am I not doing what I love?" I was a location manager for a vending management firm and while the money was great, the work environment was not; it was abusive and unsatisfying on so many levels.  That's when I decided to take advantage of my company's tuition assistant program, went back to school and finished my degree in broadcasting.  After a 30% pay cut and four years later, I'm finally where I've always wanted to be.

Life is too short to not be doing something that makes you happy.  In the last two weeks I've heard from listeners on Twitter who've said that they've always wanted to work in radio and my response has been and always will be - go for it. If I can make a career change this late in life, so can you and you should if you don't feel the following six things when you go to work everyday:

1. content

2. curious

3. challenged

4. rewarded

5. motivated

6. optimistic

I know what you're thinking; that it's impossible to find anything that can make you feel all of those things, but I'm living proof that it is possible. You owe it to yourself and you're family to just take a leap of faith and go after what you want in life. You deserve it.
