Belvidere Teacher Honored for Pouring So Much Love and Joy Into Her Kids

Congratulations to Melissa Diaz from Lincoln Elementary School in Belvidere, Illinois

Abi Gonzalez nominated Melissa for this honor, she writes,

MS Diaz puts so much into her students, she is always having a fun celebration for the kids whether it is for a holiday, an incentive for hard work or good behavior or the 100th day of school. She has seen when my son was struggling or having a hard time and took the time to be with him one on one while having someone else handle her class. She updates parents regularly with what is going on in the classroom and sharing pictures which warm every momma’s heart. This is her first year in the Belvidere School District and I’m so glad my son got to have her as a teacher!

As Teacher of the Week, Melissa was surprised with a cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes and money to spend at WM Day Spa Salon.

When I asked Melissa how her first year was going so far at Lincoln Elementary, she shared what you might call her personal 'mission statement' as a teacher. Listen below as she talks about her approach to each of her students.
