97ZOK Teacher of the Week
Congratulations to Moriah Wegner from Machesney Elementary in Machesney Park, Illinois
Amanda Broderick nominated Moriah, she writes,
Mrs. Wegner is my daughter’s 5th grade teacher this year in the fine arts program at Machesney Elementary. To say she’s a wonderful teacher is an understatement. She is the epitome of what makes a fine arts teacher and radiates the love for her job and the kids in her class. My daughter is kind of shy sometimes and although she really has liked all the teachers she’s had, she has really clicked with Mrs. Wegner and come out of her shell. There were so many moments last school year that my daughter would have anxieties about going to school and would basically have to be forced to go and this year there has been zero instances of that. She actually says she looks forward to every single day because she gets to see her amazing teacher. Mrs. Wegner is always praising her students and making them feel special.
She’s just an all-around amazing human. My daughter and her classmates feel so fortunate to have had her as a teacher in their last year at Machesney and are already dreading leaving her next year and making plans for ways to come back to visit her. She really is such a special teacher and deserves recognition for teacher of the week and so much more.
