Congratulations to our brand new teacher of the week, Mr. Newmeyer from Harlem High School.

Mr. Neumeyer won dessert from Nothing Bundt Cakes and flowers from Broadway Florist. One of Mr. Neumeyer's students, Hanna Kuelling, nominated him for the award. Hanna says :

Being a senior in high school, I have had many teachers. Some bad, some good, but one teacher in all my years of being a dedicated student as stuck out as extraordinary.
Mr. Neumeyer not only allows his students to come into his class every morning before school to help them with anything they are struggling with, but he makes learning a fun experience. He uses his sense of humor to help us students learn in a different yet understandable way. He teachers history and government, which are classes that often don’t interest students that much, but he always finds a way to make it understandable.
I have had Mr. Neumeyer for two years in a row for both of the classes he has taught, and I have learned more from him than from any single teacher I have ever had. He worked for a few years to get a project passed for him to teach his U.S. history class in a different order than any other teacher, including himself had ever taught before in order for his students to comprehend the material in an efficient way. This shows how motivated he is to think outside of the box to be the best teacher he can.
Mr. Neumeyer deserves to be the 97ZOK’s teacher of the week because I feel that more often than not, the effort that he puts into making his class fun and educational goes unnoticed by so many students, and he deserves to know that he is positively affecting the lives and education of hundreds of students every single day through his lectures and projects in his class.
