Teacher of the Week: Mrs. Petty from Fairview Early Childhood Center
Congratulations to our newest Teacher of the Week, Mrs. Petty from Fairview Early Childhood Center!
We hooked up Mrs. Petty with beautiful flowers from Broadway Florist and delicious cupcakes from Sugar Jones.
The winning nomination came from her daughter, Marcia Teeples.
Marcia writes:
Gloria has had many very difficult family medical issues over the past couple years and besides having to step up at home to help with her grandson she still goes above and beyond with all of her students.Gloria is my mother and due to emergency surgery when my son was 4 months old I am physically incapable of taking care of him by myself and without my mother’s help. My mother goes to work every day and nurtures, teaches, encourages and cares for all of her student’s every day and then comes home and helps to take care of me and my child. I watch her stay up every day till about 1 in the morning to finish evaluations to make sure her students that need extra help are able to receive it. She will also create individualized packets to help families with children's needs and to show them what they can do at home.My mother has worked with early childhood for almost 30 years and her greatest joy is to hear how the children continue to grow as they move on to higher grades. At 63 she is one of the most hardworking women I have ever seen. She never looks for recognition and has a tendency to stay in the background letting others shine."
