Teacher of The Week: Ms. Mase From Guilford High School
Congratulations going out to the new 97ZOK Teacher of the Week.
Ms. Mase from Guilford High School took home the honors this week.
She wins from Broadway Florist, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and Oriental Trading Company. The instant tears after she walked in the room and I congratulated her said it all. The letter actually comes from a former student. Which just goes to show how much of an impact teachers can leave on someone's life.
Caitiln Walsh writes:
Jaime Mase is an amazing woman, she isn't a typical teacher. She is the teacher for the visually impaired at Guilford. She helped me through high school and so much more. I've been legally blind my entire life and it's difficult and often times isolating. My vision decreased in high school and she was there to help me adapt. That was ten years ago and she continues to do work like this every day.
Often times it seems as if teachers of various specialized groups are over looked. She deserves recognition for her incredible heart and eternal kindness. I watched her have nothing but patience for not just me but also for my fellow visually impaired/blind classmates. I'm honored to know her and attribute a lot of my personal growth to the lessons she taught me.
This weeks teacher of the week is the epitome of why we do this. Teachers can shape your life for more than just your school experience. Please take the time to nominate your favorite.
