Not only did Champaign make the list, but it's considered the best college town to buy a home over any other in America. Here's why.

Realtor:

Two hours south of Chicago and west of Indianapolis, Champaign is a good spot for new grads trying to launch their careers—especially those who want to keep their living costs down to help pay off those student loans. Home to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the state’s flagship public university, more than 30,000 undergraduates descend on this city every fall.

The article also mentions the average price of a home in Champaign is under $200K at $180,900 while mentioning that almost 40% of the town's population is made up of students.

That's a great number if you're right out of college, lucky enough to have found a job quickly and found one that's in the same place you received your diploma. All that means you'll be employed in the same town where nearly half of the population is close to your age. #fun.

While it might sound a bit far-fetched, it can and does happen more often in Champaign than in most other towns.

If it didn't it would be safe to say, Champaign wouldn't make the list, much less be considered America's best college town to purchase a home.
