For years, food innovators have been coming up with ways to make our favorite foods even more unhealthy; even the healthy food.

It's the number one reason we go to the fair- for the deep fried goodness and all things on a stick.  Twinkies, oreos, cheese curds and corn dogs. But it doesn't stop there.

The summer I graduated from college I spent two weeks promoting and selling chocolate covered jalapenos on a stick; it was one of the newest and most popular foods at the Minnesota State Fair back in 2011. The following summer I was doing a live broadcast from a county fair in Iowa and experienced deep fried pineapple and Kool-Aid, yes, deep fried Kool-Aid. Pretty crazy, right?

The bar by itself is 200 calories, but when you coat it in batter, deep fry it and coat it in powdered sugar and chocolate, it's 500 calories. Compare that to a deep fried Oreo, which has 890 calories.

So is it any good? "Chicken" Charlie says it's delicious; that it's even better than his famous deep fried Oreo.

Unfortunately, they're only available (right now) at the the San Diego County Fair, which runs through July 4th weekend.

Would you try a deep fried Slim-Fast bar?
