Alert the grammar police because they need to take a quick at this piece of history before it's fixed.

You might not know the significance of the cow at Illinois State Fair made completely of butter. It's been a photo op since before selfies were a thing, all the back in the 1920's. This year though it's even more important because the fair is celebrating Illinois' bicentennial birthday. It's a pretty big deal, one that might require spellchecks, but someone didn't do that.

Can you spot the typo on the "Grand State Champion" sign?

"Bicenntenial" is actually spelled "Bicentennial." (I only know that because I use Grammarly.) And, after someone pointed out the error to Visit Springfield/Facebook, they came back with a quick and witty response.

Holy cow! You're right. We've heard the artist will be making a correction this evening.

As of this closing time on Thursday (Aug. 10) the error was still there. Maybe it'll still be there today?
