This ‘Golden Girl’ Is Considered The Best Actress From Illinois

I had no idea this actress was from Illinois. Consider me learned.

According to a recent story on Hidden Remote, the best actor and actress from Illinois have been named.

Golden Girls actress Betty White was named the best actress from Illinois.

According to Hidden Remote, "America’s sweetheart was born in Oak Park, Illinois and spent her early years there before her family moved to California during the Great Depression. It wasn’t until she performed as the lead role in the graduation play at the Horace Mann School in Beverly Hills where she developed an interest in acting."

White beat out Gillian Anderson, Bonnie Hunt, Jami Gertz and Jenny McCarthy for the honor.

The best actor from Illinois is the guy who played Inigo Montoya in The Princess Bride, Mandy Patinkin.

While Patinkin is known (at least to me) for playing Montoya in The Princess Bride, he has a much larger film resume.

Patinkin's TV and movie credits feature projects such as Homeland, Criminal Minds, Chicago Hope, and Dick Tracy.

According to HIdden Remote, "The Chicago native was born and raised and attended several schools around the metropolitan area. Patinkin would later attend the prestigious Julliard School in New York City to study acting and happened to be classmates with actor Kelsey Grammar."
