Man, there must be something in the water to have divorce rates this high.

What do you think the average percentage of divorced people is in just about any city in America?

According to the CDC, the divorce rate per 1,000 people is 2.7. Depending on how many people live in your town or city that number can either be very low or astronomical.

So while it might not have anything to do with the water, it might be the living conditions.

This Illinois city with a divorce rate through the roof was recently called one of the worst cities for children and is also considered the 5th most dangerous city in the country behind Baltimore, Stockton (California), Memphis, and Detroit.

That's some rough company to keep as the four ahead of this city have been historically dangerous for some time.

So maybe that is part of the reason Danville, Illinois is the city with the 8th highest divorce rate in the entire country.

24/7 Wall Street says 16.26% of the population in Danville is divorced, while 2.5% are separated. Only 42% of Danville residents are married, and almost 32% have never even taken a trip down the aisle.

All that sounds a little strange especially when you consider it was the 379th smallest of 384 metros measured in the study.

So while it seems wedding chapels and banquet halls don't get used quite so much in Danville, if you're a divorce attorney, you could do much worse than to set up shop in this little Illinois town.
