COVID-19 has negatively affected a lot of things this year, and apparently some of those things are marriages. According to a new study, the Stateline divorce rate is on the rise amid pandemic.

With a lot of time stuck at home, a lot of couples were around each other A LOT more than they were before. All this time together put a lot of relationships to the test. According to WTVO -

The LegalTemplates.net divorce survey found that the number of couples filing has increased 34% since Spring of 2019. Quarantine seems to have hit newlyweds the hardest, as couples married five months or less are pursuing a divorce at double the rate of 2019.

And the divorce rate isn't the only thing changing. The way people are getting divorced has changed as well. Like most meetings happening in 2020, divorce court proceedings and meetings with lawyers are happening VIA Zoom.

The marriage counselors encourage struggling couples to remember to be patient, kind, give the other person space and hear each other out during uncertain times.

Another suggestion, have designated spaces in the home and you-time.
