Two Illinois Eateries Among America’s ‘Best New Restaurants’ List
With so many restaurants opening up every day across the US, there is plenty of opportunity to try something new and amazing.
Sadly, 60% of restaurants don't make it past the first year, and 80% go under in five years according to Food Industry.
That said, each year there's a bevy of new restaurants that are in for the long haul and I have a feeling these two might be around for a while.
USA Today just put out their 10 Best New Restaurants in the US That You Need to Try in 2024 list and they said two different Illinois joints made the grade.
The Oakville Grill & Cellar in Chicago
Located at 163 North Green Street, Oakville is "where Napa Valley meets Chicago's Fulton Market District" according to their website.
Katie L. says Oakville has an "unmatched wine selection" and is "great for a date night."
However, Lindsey D. said, "For an upscale restaurant in West Loop, it DID NOT MEET EXPECTATIONS for service, food, or ambiance."
Asador Bastian in Chicago
From chef Doug Psaltis, Asador Bastian in Chicago is a chophouse with Basque influences. Set in the Flair House, an 1800s historic townhouse, you'll be wowed by some of the world's finest boutique beef. Indulge in their white truffles from Alba in season or sample the spontaneous chef's menu that celebrates the best of San Sebastian in the Basque Country. This is a carnivore's paradise.
Located at 214 West Erie, Asador Bastian is rated a 4.0 out of 5 on Yelp.
Lauren W. calls the restaurant "Excellent, Fabulous, and Decadent" on Yelp but Greg N. says Asador Bastian's "Price per pound way of charging is distasteful."
If you had to pick between Oakville and Asasdor Bastian which would it be?
