Big Surprise In Wisconsin There Are Actually Weed Friendly Cities
If you like to smoke a little pot and head up to Wisconsin, there are some weed-friendly cities to visit.
Wisconsin Is Not A Weed Friendly State
When comparing Illinois to Wisconsin, there is one thing that the "Land of Lincoln" does much better than the "Cheeseheads." That is marijuana. Cannabis is still illegal on the other side of the "Cheddar Curtain." We are all good here.
Of course, since recreational marijuana is legal in Illinois, the whole state is basically weed-friendly. In fact, Chicago is ranked 15th best pot city in the whole United States. Check it out, HERE.
Wisconsin Isn't All Bad When It Comes To Weed
I'm not surprised that Wisconsin is not weed-friendly because cannabis hasn't been legalized. I believe Illinois would like to keep it that way since the number one export right now is marijuana.
There are some cities in Wisconsin that "get it" when it comes to weed.
According to milwaukeemag.com,
Under state law, possession of marijuana, even a small amount, is no joke.
It’s a misdemeanor the first time and a felony thereafter.
Several Wisconsin cities, however, have passed slap-on-the-wrist ordinances intended for their police officers to enforce instead.
- Madison: Decriminalized, residents can possess 112 grams, & fine is $1.
- Stevens Point: $100 possession fine.
- Menominee Nation: 77% percent favor medical and 58% recreational legalization.
Avoid Marshfield: They still follow the full state law for weed.
Confusion About Milwaukee And Weed
I'm now really confused about weed in Milwaukee. Recently, I read that it was one of the least weed-friendly cities in the United States. Check it out, HERE. That might have changed.
Milwaukee: Lower fine for possession to just $50. Not sure which one to believe so just be careful.
