Wet Winter Weather Forces Rockford Into Flood Watch
An immense amount of rain mixed with melting snow and frozen land could lead to flooding in the Rockford area.
Meteorologist Kristin Cwynar shared this on her Facebook page "A Flood Watch will go into effect this evening, with periods of heavy rain tonight through Tuesday afternoon. 1-2" of rain will be likely across the Stateline through Tuesday evening."
According to the graphics shared by Cwynar, it looks like 1.24" of rain will drop in the Rockford area by 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday morning with more of it just south.
The flood watch will start "Monday evening through late Tuesday for the Rockford area." per the Rockford Register Star.
According to WREX, "Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Ogle, Lee, and DeKalb counties for Monday evening through early Wednesday. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected Monday through Tuesday."
