WI Police Department Posts Funny ‘Weed Is Illegal Here’ Reminder

On January 1st, recreational use of marijuana became legal in Illinois. It is not legal to buy it and bring it back to Wisconsin.

The city of Muskego is just southwest of Milwaukee and the police department used their Facebook page to remind residents of the finer points of this new law.

For those of you who didn’t know, as of January 1st, 2020, marijuana will be legalized for recreational use in the state of ILLINOIS. Notice the capitalized spelling of ILLINOIS, and how it looks nothing like Wisconsin (where we live). We are NOT Illinois, and marijuana is NOT legal for recreational use in Wisconsin. We don’t create laws, but we do enforce them. So, please leave the devil’s lettuce in the Land of Lincoln...along with Bears gear and tollways. Thanks!
