I've heard getting out of phone contracts are tough, but this is taking things to a whole other level.

Maria Raybould's husband, David, died this summer from cancer, but that didn't stop the bills.

The bills in question came from T-Mobile UK, (an entirely different T-Mobile than the company in the United States) for about $40 a month.

After Raybould's passing, his son went in to the T-Mobile store to close his account thinking "it would be one less thing to worry about."

He was told to show a death certificate and Raybould's son complied. T-Mobile UK mentioned they would send off the letter of cancellation but never did.

As time passed, the grieving family continued to receive noticed that late fees and threatening cancellation letters from T-Mobile UK were starting to pile up.

Raybould's widow, Maria, seemed to have enough. She took his ashes with her to the store to prove to the phone store that her husband was indeed dead.

According to Wales Online, Raybould says “I’ve been up to the shop with the death certificate, with a letter from the crematorium, the funeral bills – even his ashes. I took in everything I could."

A rep from T-Mobile UK says  "there was a delay to the automated process that cancels the balance, which resulted in the letters being issued."

The matter seems to be cleared up for now, the only thing left is the apology.
