Winnebago County Animal Services to Host a “Meet Your Valentine” Event

Imagine the look on your loved one's face when they open up a box of chocolates on Valentine's Day and instead of chocolate, out jumps an adorable chocolate lab or cat. (Ok, so it's a big heart shaped box) Whether your single or attached, a furry friend makes the perfect Valentine.

For Valentine's Day this year, Winnebago County Animal Services is hosting a "Meet Your Valentine" promotion for dogs and cats that have been at the shelter for longer than 30 days.

Right now, through February 13th, you can adopt an adult cat or dog for just $20. The cost includes a rabies shot and tag, microchip, spay/neuter and other preventative vaccinations.

Something to remember when meeting your Valentine- they do make a great gift and companion, but they're also a commitment. Please make sure that the person you're giving this forever friend to is ready to be BFFs for life.
