SJ Cafe in Loves Park, a destination for smoothies, energy elixirs, and other food and drink options, has closed.

The owners announced the closure on social media in a message to customers, saying the decision "was not an easy one" and citing the demands of other businesses and careers as one reason.

Why SJ Cafe in Loves Park Closed

They also pointed to ongoing difficulties maintaining enough staff to operate the cafe properly, which contributed to the decision to close permanently. They thanked their customers, employees, and everyone who supported the business.

The space where the now-former SJ Cafe sits might not be empty for long, as the restaurant is fully equipped and currently available for purchase. It could be converted into another restaurant, cafe, bakery, smoothie shop, meal prep business, fast casual restaurant, or another concept altogether, with the owners adding, "the beginning of something new for another local entrepreneur."
