
Wisconsin Trick-or-Treaters: Here’s Why You Want to Head to Illinois for Halloween
Wisconsin might have better beer and cheese than we do here in Illinois, but when it comes to Halloween, Illinois is the better place to trick-or-treat.
Back in the day, Halloween meant you pick one costume, your mom or grandma helps you make it and you wear that costume only on Halloween.

If Halloween was a school day, you got to change into your costume after lunch, share some sweet snacks with your classmates, maybe parade around the school in your costume and when you got home you met up with your neighborhood friends and hit the streets to knock on as many doors as you could until 9pm.

These days, there are way more opportunities to wear your costumes and you probably aren't asking your mom to make it... hello Amazon.
What else has changed since I was a kid... driving to a different neighborhood to trick-or-treat! I guess some of my friends would come by my house to knock on doors, but for the most part we all stayed nearish our homes when we were asking for candy.
These days you might trick-or-treat at your grandma's, your uncles, or just a neighborhood you know hands on full size candy bars.
If you live in Wisconsin, you might want to rethink your trick-or-treating plan for this year and hit up a neighborhood in Illinois, because Illinois is one of the top states for trick-or-treating this year.

According to a new study from KuruFootwear, Illinois is the 6th best state in the country to beg for candy this Halloween.
Wisconsin doesn't even crack the top 20, sliding in between Louisiana and Delaware at 21st.
The data took inventory of the average temperature on Halloween, the pedestrian deaths per 100K people, the average state WalkScore and percentage of the population under 18 years old.
