"I clearly remember laying on the stretcher to take me back to the operating room and I was crying. I was telling the doctors that I was scared that I wasn't going to wake up from my surgery. Which is kind of eerie to look back on because I was right." Shelly said.

"We knew skin to skin contact is very beneficial to an infant, so we thought why not try it for a mom.

They brought Shelly's new baby daughter Rylan into her room and placed her on Shelly's chest. Once she was placed on her mom's chest, Rylan went right to sleep and nothing happened. That's when decided to see what would happen if Rylan made some noise.

First they started tickling and poking her, but she just kept sleeping. So they eventually pinched her, and she started crying. And that's when the miracle happened. Shelly WOKE UP.
