22 Criminal Arrests in Recent Police Saturation Sweep, More are Coming
Two weeks ago, several area law enforcement agencies combined efforts to sweep through high crime areas and make arrests. The results were many. Take a look.
On August 11th and 12th, the Winnebago County Sheriff's office joined forces with the following, according to mystateline.com.
- Illinois State Police
- Rockford Police Department
- Loves Park Police Department
- Village of Winnebago Police Department
- Cherry Valley Police Department
- South Beloit Police Department
- Rock Valley College Police Department
Their mission was to sweep neighborhoods and make traffic stops, execute search warrants for suspected drug crimes and even a prostitution sting was carried out. The results of the saturation sweep, according to the Winnebago County Sheriff's office, were quite impressive. Here are the numbers after the two-day sweep.
- 87 traffic stops
- 37 traffic citations
- 46 written warnings
- 5 arrest warrants served
- 5 fleeing to elude incidents
- 2 grams of cannabis recovered
- 22 criminal arrests
