Years ago, a friend from out of town visiting Rockford during Alpine Kiwanis Brat Days asked me this question: "So, Rockford's idea of a good time is hanging around a parking lot and eating bratwursts during the heat of the summer? Really?"

Yes, I pointed out, that really is our idea of a good time, and it has been for half a century.

Over The Last 50 Years, Alpine Kiwanis Has Given More Than $2 Million To Support Our Local Community

Alpine Kiwanis gives away 100% of of the proceeds from the annual Brat Days, and that two million dollars has gone directly to our area's great non-profits, and to Rockford-area students in the form of scholarships.

All you need to do to make sure those donations keep rolling in is to eat your fill of brats over a couple of summer days. Is that so much to ask? I didn't think so.
