Sometimes day care emergencies arise. You've got class to teach and you can't take your kids somewhere on short notice. Students in a very similar situations are forced to miss class when it's too late to find somewhere for your children to go. A place where both RVC employees and students could take their children in instances like this would be a great addition, according to a recent story at wrex.com.

A campus survey asked how much faculty and students would be willing to pay for daycare services. The survey found the majority of students would like to pay less than $50, the majority of faculty said less than $100.

While the daycare is on hold for now, that doesn't mean the idea won't be pursued further.  Students who take early childhood education classes could help with the daycare program and receive college credit. Adding this type services to Rock Valley College could actually encourage more students to enroll.
