One Stateline woman had a terrifying experience yesterday, so she took to Facebook to share her story to stress the importance of being aware of our surroundings and to save lives.

As a woman and the mother of two daughters, I am terrified about the amount of women who have gone missing in the Rockford area in the last week. I really hope that the disappearances have nothing to do with human trafficking, that thought literally makes me sick to my stomach. Then I saw this video shared by Stateline resident Kelsey Saunders (the video has since been removed) about the scary situation she experienced on Tuesday, and knew I had to do my part to spread the word to keep women in Rockford safe. Please share this with everyone you know and love.

Update: It appears that the post has been removed from Facebook. The video showed Saunders recounting her harrowing encounter with the driver of a green Ford Ranger truck.

Thank you, Kelsey, for sharing your story; I'm so glad to hear you're safe. Ladies, be careful out there and STAY AWARE!
