Illinois Police Encounter Bizarre Demand from Arrested Woman
Hall of Fame hockey player Wayne Gretzky once said, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."
It's one of my favorite quotes, but I just now learned that this is one of those times when that saying doesn't work. In fact, it's a perfect example of irony in action.

You see, Gilbert was arrested for trespassing just recently by Metropolis Police. This wasn't her first run-in, either.
Gilbert has previously trespassed on the same residence more than once.
During the arrest, the cops found a little something else on Gilberet's person, some methamphetamine.
Additional Charges Filed
Gilbert then looked at an additional charge on top of the already existing trespassing, methamphetamine possession.

From there, Metropolis police processed Gilberet and released her with a notice to appear.

A Bizarre Request
After agreeing, Gilbert made an unexpected request-she asked the police for her meth back. The police, of course, declined.
The Irony of the Situation
Even though she failed and with good reason, Gretzky would appreciate the effort, even if it was an attempt to retrieve an illegal substance.
