Hold on to your hats, Wisconsin's most epic snow winter experience returns in 2022 and it's only an hour from Illinois.

The Rock snowpark, in Franklin, Wisconsin, offers primo hills (mountains) for skiing, snowboarding, and, yes, snow tubing.

Unlike when I was a kid and the goal was to get down the slope as quickly and dangerously as possible, this is a safe and controlled environment.

Also, if the thought of walking up a snowy hill with a tube in your arms seems like a feat you don't want to tackle don't sweat it. The 19-lanes of tubing also has a "magic carpet conveyor" to bring you back to the top with your tube.

It is in your best interest to buy your tickets online ahead of time versus hopping in the car, driving to the snow park, and purchasing your tickets on property.

It is 100% possible for The Rock snowpark to sell out for the day, especially for tubing. Also, do not bring your own tube, you must use theirs.

What is glow tubing?

It's what it sounds like, almost. The tubes don't glow but it takes place in the dark with fun colored lights around the lanes.

Because of the limited time reserved for glow tubing, Friday and Saturday nights (in January) from 9:15-11 pm, you definitely want to buy your tickets as soon as they go on sale. The official on-sale date will be announced on their social media channels later this month.

When do they open for the ACTUAL season?

The original plan was to open the weekend of December 3 however, due to warm weather and rain the season kickoff is slated for the weekend of December 10, 2021.
