NFL Commissioner Says Chicago Is No Longer A ‘Viable’ Home For The Bears
You know that famous movie line, “You can’t handle the truth?”
It’s fitting because the truth is, as a Bears fan, it’s painful to see them actually moving out of the city.
It’s even more true that the city seemingly didn’t do enough or even anything to keep them around, and what’s worse is that it’s true that it’ll probably be better for the Bears and their fans in the long run.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell even had a little something to say, and it’s the truth, again.
He said there are only two “viable” stadium sites left for the beloved Bears:
- Arlington Heights
- Hammond, Indiana
Yes, Goodell thinks Chicago is no place for a professional football team.
We just need to find out whether the entire state of Illinois opposes the idea of housing a professional football team.

Illinois lawmakers have until May 31 to pass legislation that will, in essence, keep the team in the state, and even Governor Pritzker believes there is momentum to get the deal done.
There is still an outside chance it doesn’t happen, and the Bears look toward Indiana, which has a proposal offering up to $1 billion in incentives.
So it might happen, but one thing is for sure: the “Chicago” in “Chicago Bears” is about to become more of a brand name than an actual location.
