I'm pretty sure I'm not way off base here when I say that a summer holiday always involves throwing some type of meat on the grill to feast on, right? I also don't think it's wrong to say that when the question of where to get great barbecue in the summer comes up, Smokin' Coop BBQ Pit in Belvidere is usually one of the first places that pops into mind. (If you've never tried it before, make a point to do that this summer. Seriously!)

Smokin' Coop BBQ Pit is now officially open for their 2021 season, and as I was perusing their Facebook the other day I noticed something awesome they have coming up for the Nikolas Ritschel Foundation, a.k.a., Nik's Wish, which helps provide moments of joy for young adults ages 18-24 and their families fighting cancer.

Smokin' Coop BBQ Pit has partnered with the Nikolas Ritschel Foundation for an event called "Nothing BUTT Smile Pork Roast", (pretty clever name, huh), and it's the perfect way to get some GREAT meat on your grill this Memorial Day.

Basically, you pre-order a Smoked Pork Roast from Smokin' Coop BBQ Pit to throw on your grill this Memorial Day, and they will donate the proceeds from all the orders to Nik's Wish!  Isn't that awesome?  The cost is $40 for a 5 -7 lbs Bone-in Smoked pork roast (it's perfect for making pulled pork that will serve about 17-20 peopl), or you can order 2 for $70.

Pre-orders are being taken now, and just a little heads-up, Smokin' Coop will be doing the same thing for Nik's Wish again just in time for the 4th of July! I'm drooling already!
