Make Plans Now To Eat At Illinois’ Best ‘Bucket List Restaurant’
If there was only one restaurant in the entire state you must eat at once before you die, it should probably be this place.
LoveFood pieced together a list of bucket list restaurants "you have to visit at least once."
They referred to these restaurants as "unmissable culinary gems," too.
THE BEST BUCKET LIST RESTAURANT IN ILLINOIS
Have you been to Oriole? If not, this is the place you should make reservations to check out right now.
LoveFood says, "James Beard nominated chef-owner Noah Sandoval delivers an ever-evolving standout tasting menu of contemporary American cuisine where dining is a real experience. On arrival, guests are ushered into a freight elevator and handed a drink before the door opens to reveal the dining room. The restaurant also boasts an exciting range of cocktails created by acclaimed mixologist Julia Momose."
I have never had an eating experience like that before, and I have to tell you, if I knew this would be my last meal, I'd have a hard time saying I'd want anything other than Oriole.
REVIEWS OF ORIOLE IN CHICAGO
Oriole is a two-starred Michelin restaurant, so you know the place is the goods before you even step onto the elevator.
Yelp reviewers agree, too, giving Oriole a 4.8 out of 5. For example, Stephen L. says, "The minute you enter Oriole, you know you're in for an evening that you won't soon forget."
Sherard C. went as far as calling Oriole a "complete masterpiece of culinary on display."
Oriole detractors mostly complained about the saltiness of the food, never the service, while one said they "left feeling full but unsatisfied."
To me, this sounds like the perfect bucket list restaurant. Oriole is located at 661 West Walnut Street in Chicago.
